New York Monday

October 4, 2009 | Filed Under Announcements, Food Blogging Events, New York Monday, World Bread Day

On the way from the post office, I passed by this discarded sofa chair on the sidewalk.  Obviously, the owner didn’t need it anymore but I’m sure that someone would come by and make good use of it.  I’ve thrown out many things before (from furniture to books) and within a very short time, found that someone had picked it up.  One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

On another note, I’d like to pass along the word that the 4th edition of World Bread Day 2009 — Yes, We Bake is coming up on October 16, 2009.  It’s a fun event in which to participate.  For more information, stop by Zorra’s blog.

Have a great week, everyone!

Paz

  1. It’s not unusual here, either … but at least there it wasn’t raining!

  2.
yes, well, as long as someone finds good use for it, it’s okay I guess. This looks like a good sofa. Where I am they just dump JUNK!!!

  3. one thing about this picture that hits me is the old folk over there walking by the sofa chair! dunno what it is, but it’s really a great shot with him.

  4. You really are back! This is good.
This put out on the street really do disappear fast, but for some weird reason i never have the nerve to put a really big object on the sidewalk… I always think I will get caught and scolded

  5. One may think the man just got up from the chair and started walking. Very nice shot, Paz. Have a great week!

  6. I think things here also move very quickly…have a nice week Paz :)

Its an outstanding photo Paz, very humorous and tells a story. Something I find funny is the style of chair. I always think of New York as super sophisticated and stylish, I forget regular folks who want to be comfortable live there too!

  9. Interesting photo :-) …I am surprise that the sofa still there since still look somehow OK

  10. What a GREAT photo! Love it.

  11. Ich muss gestehen, ich habe auch schon Sachen mitgenommen, die auf der Strasse standen. ;-) Das ist gutes Recycling, isn’t it?

  12. Hi Paz. Great shot. Every time I put something on the sidewalk with a “free” sign it disappears within five minutes, and I live on a street that is not very busy.
I am always surprised at how fast it goes.
    Have a great weekend.

  13. Thanks for stopping by, all.

    Paz
