    Have a great week, Paz

  2. You captured a great moment (not so much for those stuck in the traffic ;-P!)! Great picture!

    Cheers,

    Rosa

  3. To me in India, it hardly looks like a rush  – just looks like a good, orderly day!
Here we have people hanging on to the footboard of the bus, and the bus tilting because of the weight – I’m not exaggerating.

Yet another great picture. :) )

For some reason or other, it reminded me of the time that NYC bus drivers volunteered to drive 100 buses down to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. My son, Tom, was one of them. They drove without stopping the first two days. Tom and his driving partner, James, would change places in the driver’s seat while driving full speed on the highways!! I never could wrap my mind around how they did that.

I think it was around the third day they had to stop at a town in Alabama to regroup. To their surprise, half the town had turned out to greet them with hot food and well wishes. They couldn’t get over how encouraging and generous these total strangers were to them.

  5. A great picture!
Transport seems to be on our minds today.I did the Rail Road.
    Great minds think alike.

  6. Hi Dorit: Always glad when you’re able to stop by. ;-)

    LOL! Thanks Rosa. ;-)

Hi Sra: LOL! That must be a sight indeed.

Hi Kathleen: What a wonderful story! And what a sight that must have been — all those buses on the road.

Hi Elizabeth: Yes, great minds… ;-) Love your Rail Road post. Wonderful!

    Thanks for stopping by, all.

SRA’s story about the buses in India really tickled me. A couple of years ago I saw on TV a Bollywood clip of song and dance celebrities doing a dance routine on the top of a moving train! Wow! Not only was I impressed by the number but, loved the song. It was only last month that I finally tracked it down on a website where you could download it for free. It’s Chaiyya Chaiyya by Sukhwinder Singh & Sapana Awasthi. Needless to say, it’s on my iPod.

Oops. Sorry. I found that one on iTunes. The one I got from the free website was Chalak Chalak from the Bollywood classic, Devdas.

  9. Very cool, Kathleen: I’m going to have to look up the music.
