New York Monday #131: Yogurt, Anyone?

July 13, 2008 | Filed Under New York Monday

Yup!  You can find anyone or anything on the streets of New York.   I came across these modern-day Spartans on Central Park West.  Actually, they are young men hired to promote Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt (a Stonyfield Farm product).  Have any of you tried their yogurt before?  I’ve never heard of this particular brand of Greek yogurt before.  Such handsome Spartans, how can I resist?  I’m going to go buy the yogurt.    ;-)

Happy Monday, all!  Have a great week.

Paz

  1. I’m surprised that they’re still at it, as you mentioned them last week some time!

  2. Love the outfit, with the shorts underneath!!!

  3. Really funny. I have seen that yogurt in teh stores, but have not yet tried it.

  4. Hi DaviMack: Same day, different guys. The other site has photos of a different guy. ;-)

Hi Lydia: LOL! Yes, love his look with the skirt and the shorts underneath. ;-)

Hi Simona: I’m very tempted to try their yogurt. I will next time if I see it. ;-)

  5. Wow….that man in the top photo could sell me dirt and I would buy from him! ;) What a handsome guy….

I’ve never heard of the yogurt, but the man up there could spoon feed me some! :)

I’ll stop now….Hope you had a great weekend.

  6. too bad they weren’t brave enough to go with out the shorts underneath!

  7. I hope they had some fun with it and were not to hot! All in a days work.

  8. Really anachronic! That’s so NY!

Cheers and have a great week,

    Rosa

  9. I’m such a geek  : That’s not even Greek armour; it’s Roman! However, I’m sure it doesn’t effect the taste of the yogurt. I can NEVER say no to yogurt. Let us know how it tastes.

  10. Gotta go with Nerissa on this one - Roman Centurions peddling Greek yogurt? Odd. But yeah, the first guy could sell me just about anything…. the guy in shorts not so much.
    Thanks for the laugh!

  11. LOL! Melissa: I’m hear you and am with you.

Kat: LOL! I thought about that, too!

Hi Courtney: It was hot but I think they had a good time. They were all smiles. I noticed some carried a bottle of water.

Hi Rosa: Yes, so NY!

Hi Nerissa: LOL! Now I know it’s not Greek but Roman. That’s good to know.

Hi Terry: Another Roman expert here. Good we have you here. ;-)

    Thanks for stopping by, all!

Oh, yes! I saw one of these guys on the corner of Central Park West and 72nd Street when I went to visit my sister about two weeks ago. He was riding one of those…what the heck do you call them?…wheels that you ride on, and it was tricked out to look like a chariot. What a riot! Some people wanted their pictures taken with him. I was sorry I didn’t have my camera with me.

  13. Ummm…if I try and get the yoghurt ordered in up here, do you think it will be delivered by one or seven of those lovely young men?

  14. For some reason, I find the correlation between these chaps and yoghurt hilarious, despite the Greek connection. It seems an overstatement to me. And I love the pic of that soldier wearing sunglasses, in the second photo!

  15. Hi Kathleen: They must be all over, then. I saw them on 59th Street. ;-)

LOL, Jasmine! I like your way of thinking?

Hi Sra: Yeah, the whole concept is funny but fun to watch and photograph. Now I have to taste the yogurt. ;-)

  16. I love Stonyfield Farm Organic Ice Cream, it’s like nothing else (and it doesn’t have raw eggs in it so I’m not allergic). Have not tried the yogurt but it’s a very good bet that it’s wonderful.

Paz, I’ve been so behind, and out of town, and focused, that I have not read *anyone’s* blog for weeks. I’m sending you healing greetings and as many good vibes as can make it from Michigan to NYC.

Be kind to yourself, do what they say, and heal as you can. Gentle is the way to go, OK?

    Hugs,
    LynnH in Lansing
