New York Monday #100: Soul Food
December 10, 2007 | Filed Under Interviews, Announcements, New York Monday

LOL! I think this is the only building in New York that is painted yellow and red. This restaurant is located underneath an apartment building.
I forgot to mention some time ago (actually, I didn’t have time to post and then I forgot) that Ed of Is it EDible (Haha! I like that blog name — always makes me smile when I see it. He’s also got the cutest sous chefs.) interviewed me for his blog. Brave guy! Some other recent fun interviews that I enjoyed reading are of Mari of My Silly Little Thoughts (her thoughts are not silly) and Ed, himself. If you’re interested in reading any or all of the interviews, have a look here, here and here. You can find more fun interviews of other cool food bloggers (like Kalyn of Kalyn’s Kitchen) in Ed’s archives here. Have a look! Thanks, Ed!
Happy reading and have a great week, all!
Paz

that building is hard to miss! will check out your interview now
The only red and yellow? Now I have to go looking in Dallas. I think I’ll find several.
What a fun sign. I have been reading about Soul Food in the Summer issue of Gastronomica: very interesting. And what a fun interview!
Hey Paz, Thanks for the mention! Now, have you eaten the soul food at the pictured restaurant? The only soul food restaurant I know about in NYC is Sylvia’s, but rumor has it that the menu there has something to be desired…Maybe once you start feeding busloads of tourists the soul that’s put into the food gets spread around a little too thinly. Just a (silly?) thought. cheerio, m
Hey Chef Paz I couldn’t figure out how to contact you any other way so I’m writing my fan mail in your comments. I just started a food website a few months ago called www.oneforthetable.com. Everyone here are bag fans of yours and would love for you to check out our site. Also, if you think you might have anything you would want to contribute to our site during the holiday season please let us know. Thanks!
That is a very happy building — a ray of sunshine in a city that can sometimes seem very gray!
Hi Paz, the interview made nice reading!
“Soul Food” is a nice name for a restaurant. Have you eaten there already? What’s on the menu?
Hi Kat: LOL! It is no hard to miss, indeed.
Hi Tanna: You mean you have lots of red and yellow buildings? I’d love to see some pics.
Hi Simona: What did the article say?
Hi Mari: Interesting thought!
Hi Amy: Welcome. Sorry about that. I forgot to put up my e-mail when I revised my blog. I’ve put it up. I’ll also contact you.
Hi Lydia: Well, the color certainly wakes me up.
Hey there Sra: Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at it. I enjoyed the interview you conducted with me, too.
Hi Olivia: M&G Soul Food does have a nice ring to it.
Thanks for stopping by, everyone!
