Daring Bakers Challenge #11: Bostini Cream Pie
October 29, 2007 | Filed Under Daring Bakers, Pies, Baking

Thanks to all the very encouraging and head-swelling comments I received after I tried my very first Daring Bakers Challenge, I set out to meet the next challenge — Bostini Creme Pie — chosen by Mary at Alpineberry.
Ugh! It. Was. Hard. But I made it.
I’m not sure if the pie is suppose to look like the ones in my photos but it’s what I came up with. The good thing about these Daring Bakers Challenges is that I’m gaining baking experience and making foods that I never dreamed about making. I’m glad I survived this experience. Yay!
My name is Paz. And I’m a Daring Baker.
You can find the recipe here.
Paz
Ed. Note: LOL! After looking at some of the Bostini Creme Pies created by others, I see that I put way too much chocolate on my pie. LOL! Hey, what do I know? I’m still learning. To see other beautiful Bostini Creme Pies creations, check out the official Daring Bakers’ Blogroll.

Now why didn’t I think of using those cup! That is a perfect size for this very rich dessert. Perfect Paz.
Very daring indeed. I would never dare try something like this.!
Your little pies look adorable!
You are most definitely a daring baker! I’ve never heard of this pie so I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like, but it looks delicious.

Ummm….there is no such thing as too much chocolate on the top of a Daring Baker dessert
Great job on your challenge this month!!!
NO such thing as too much chocolate. Hi, I’m mari. and I’m a hungry reader.
Whaddya mean, too much chocolate? Looks pretty close to perfect to me!
No, you didn’t.just.say.”too much chocolate”…?!!! Looks great and I am happy you decided to participate again!
Hi Paz,
this cake is ideal for me!! Can I va one? You’re really a Daring Baker!
Compliments and …baci
I’m with everyone else…there is NO such thing as too much chocolate! I think your Bostinis drenched in decadent chocolate look 100% scrumptious!
I know far too many people who would say you put just the right amount of chocolate on your bostinis
I think you did a fabulous job.
oh yum!! This is making me drool!
I actually really like the way it looks completely submersed in chocolate! It reminds me of a dessert that I can’t recall. Or maybe it’s because it looks “mysterious” until you start digging in!
I really like the decadence of all that chocolate. Nice job Paz!
“Too much chocolate”? This concept does not exist.
Congratulations! Your Bostini Cream Pie looks great, Paz! And personally, I don’t think there can really BE too much chocolate on Boston Cream Pie.

P.S. Earlier this year, my husband made Boston Cream Pie at my request. For comparison sake, take a look at the recipe he used: http://etherwork.net/blog/?p=355
Great job, Paz! Congratulations! Those pies look gorgeous!
Cheers,
Rosa
Fabulous, Paz! I love these little gems.
It looks divine with all the chocolate in it! well done
too much? Pah - nonsense! The chocolate looks like it formed a lovely little shell over the bostini, which I can imagine added a nice crunchy texture to the smoothness and softness of the other bits.
This looks SO good! I can already taste it in my mouth!!;-))
You did a lovely job on your bostinis. You are much braver than I am, you went for a lofty presentation in a cup. I stuck a plate so the custard would have somewhere to roam.

I think you put just enough chocolate on, Bring it on! They are beautiful!
Uhmm.. Paz? I don’t think there’s enough chocolate. *grin*
Beautiful bostinis! I’m so happy you enjoyed another challenge!!
xoxo
No such thing as too much chocolate!!!
I agree there is no such concept as too much chocolate!
Your Bostini is drool worthy!
xoxo
How did it taste, how did it taste??? I think they look good! In fact, they look almost just like the original dessert that the restaurant where they were created serves, so no shame at all in that! I think they look fun and tasty!
There is NO SUCH THING as too much chocolate!!!
When I served my husband his, he took a big bite, making a nice big hole, and then promptly asked me to fill it with more chocolate
My very first thought was, “I want to climb that chocolate mountain!”
Well done, Paz!
I love your tagline (”Look Mom, I’m boiling water!”) Oh, I soooo feel that way most days!! I smothered my Bostini in chocolate, too, though the photos of the Bostini at Scala’s website also shows loads of chocolate on it. Great job!!
